This rural home for Matt and Sandy Gougeon and their two sons was inspired by the traditional cottages of Sweden. Tucked into the trees on the Gougeon's 60 acre property, orientation and integration into the landscape was a chief concern. The home will feature a tiled heating mass that runs through the center of the house, clerestory windows to naturally light the lofted sitting area upstairs, and a terraced garden. The design for this home is nearly complete, construction to begin in the spring of 2010.

The home features a vaulted entryway allowing visibility to and from the upper level as well as a guest suite where the original garage once stood.
